In addition to Nintendo Switch 2 games, Nintendo Switch 2 can play compatible physical and digital games released on Nintendo Switch. Some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers and peripherals, such as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, will also be usable on Nintendo Switch 2 by connecting them wirelessly to the console.

?? GameChat: Social Gaming Just Leveled Up
Nintendo introduces GameChat, a new feature that makes online play feel like everyone’s in the same room. Players can voice chat with up to 12 friends, share screens (up to 4 people), and even video chat using a compatible USB-C camera. Just press the new C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 to start a chat. GameChat will be free to use until March 2026; after that, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required. Parental approval is needed for users under 16.
